Facial recognition technology is not advanced enough to make decisions on identity when a person's life is at stake. It’s crazy to think that drones started out as just a r/c hobby-aircraft and now are being deployed overseas to carry out important missions. In the article, it states that through 5G connectivity, drones can get information in real-time. This is huge considering that back in the day, gaining information on targets took a long time. Troops had to be sent out to the location to search and find the target. Now, all that is needed is a drone. This will definitely help in improving the amount of time it takes to carry out missions. For example, if the mission is to find and neutralize an enemy, both the amount of time and the risk are practically cut in half. Incorporating AI seems like an issue to me though. I don’t believe that AI should be able to find an enemy and make the call between life or death. Searching for someone, yes, an AI would be great. But taking out a target without approval from a human, doesn’t seem ethical nor safe. Hopefully these companies producing the AI can keep that in mind.

It's even more scary to think about how it can take somebodys life all by mistake. I don't really think it's a good idea to try to go all the way to drones and no humans.
