Amazon launches new Alexa updates at Alexa Live 2021

Alexa, Siri and Cortana all are machine learning based chatbots , stimulated by natural language and have become everyday names in the households through their smart tactics. AI based virtual assistants can play music, set alarms, and provide traffic updates within a microsecond. Amazon Echo smart speaker, echo dot, echo studio are developed by Amazon. Amazon pushes the capabilities of its smart devices for easing human workload. 

 

Amazon launched some new updates for Alexa in the Alexa Live 2021. With 31 newly launched updates Amazon seeks to expand its customer base in different countries.

• Featured Skill Cards

 

Featured Skill Cards is a recent update that will connect developers with audiences right from the home screen. Individual developers can now promote their skill set through the home screen rotation. Established brands can also promote their newly launched applications through the home screen. 

 

• Advanced Shopping Assistant Features

 

Amazon has injected some advanced shopping features to scale up Alexa’s performances. Alexa will align customers shopping behaviours with their reviews by following a review based recommendation system to showcase the list of available products. Alexa can now do a lot more than just adding items to the cart. 

 

• Shine Some Light on Music

 

With the Spotlight feature music lovers will get a chance to connect with their favourite artists. Music composers can directly connect with the fans by a quick short video upload. Fans can listen to the music via Amazon’s music app. Artists can promote their music through the “Spotlight feature”.

 

• Dynamic Suggestions on the Go

 

Developers can now do a lot more with Amazon’s proactive suggestion mode. Proactive suggestions focus on event based triggers. When a customer is hunting for different cuisines, proactive skill would suggest a list of available menus, for the morning stroll skill will suggest a playlist to brighten moods. 

 

• Device Discovery

 

Customers use Alexa for controlling their smart home devices. Cameras, garage doors, and IoT based security systems can be controlled by Alexa. With a new set of developments Alexa can now control printers, Smart TV or other devices that are connected to the same network. 

 

Some other updates include APL Widgets, In Skill Purchase Expansion, Shared Activities API, Custom Tasks in Routes, Send to Phone and Find My. 

 

According to voicebot.ai Jeff Blakenburg Principal Technical Evangelist for Alexa said,  “Our vision for Alexa is to be an ambient assistant that is proactive, personal, and predictable, everywhere customers want her to be. This enables them to do more and think about technology less.”
