The pandemic altered normal lifestyle. The change was pervasive in every domain. From education to remote working everything became a part of the new normal schedule. Remote working took two approaches for many employees. It was a win-win situation where they got more time to spend on their hobbies.

Some were tired by working remotely and argued that work from the office enhances productivity and helps in maintaining proper work life balance. Whatever the approach be working remotely or joining the office most of the companies handed over the freedom of choice to the employee.

Facebook has given its employees the choice to work remotely or join the office from September. Approximately 60,000 Facebook employees will be working remotely even after the pandemic is over. The interns and early level employees can choose to work remotely. Facebook has approved 90% of requests that were made by employees for remote working.

Anyone and everyone whose work can be done remotely can choose the remote working system. This decision is only for the people who are working in the Facebook office not for the sub contractors or content moderators who are hired on contractual basis.

Other Tech Giants are also looking forward to offering the hybrid working model to the employees. Amazon employees can work remotely for two days of the week but are required to visit the office for the remaining three. Google will also opt for the hybrid working system where employees can work from anywhere for the two working days but have to mark their presence in the office for the remaining three.

According to BBC News , Mark Zuckerberg set out his own experience of remote working in a separate memo to staff. He said ,”Being out of the office had made him "happier and more productive at work", adding it had given him "more space for long-term thinking" and enabled him to "spend more time with my family".
