Google Cloud unveils Unattended Project Recommender

Cloud Computing allows users to outsource technologies and enable them to purchase pay-as-you-go pricing service models. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and IBM Cloud are some major cloud service providers. Cloud Computing has become an inevitable part for modern day business enterprises. 

 

Pay-as-you-go pricing model provides flexibility to customers. They can choose subscription models and consumption models. Flexible pricing model is a major key towards the success of cloud computing models. 

 

Unattended projects in the cloud are a major hindrance in the product development department of large scale business enterprises. There are numerous reasons for non- fulfillment of cloud projects. 

 

Project cancellation, project leader job switches are two prime reasons for unattended cloud projects. Unattended projects increase the cloud computing costs, and are a major threat to security. These projects are extremely vulnerable to cyberattacks. 

 

As the cloud stores all the enterprise data, it is important to devise a key strategy that can secure unattended projects in the cloud. To put an end to the woes of unattended cloud projects Google launched an Unattended Project Recommender. 

 

The project recommender will analyze API activity, networking activity, billing activity, and user activity. Post analysis it will provide recommendations for cleaning, or reclaiming the project. Machine learning algorithms will be employed for scrutinizing and ranking cloud projects. 

 

Machine learning models will rank projects in the organisation based on the organization's level of usage.

Advantages of the Unattended Project Recommender

 

• Restoration of Deleted Projects: By using the project method mark delete specific (individual) project will be marked as unusable. Post selection of delete method project will become unusable. A 30 day wait period will be provided to the users. Within the wait period the project can be restored. 

 

• Remediation of Unattended Projects: Unattended Project Recommender will take a variety of factors into consideration. Recommender will provide a remedy for a long list of unattended projects through simple delete and update methods. Factors of prime importance will be considered before arriving at conclusion. 

 

 According to VentureBeat, Google notes that, as with any other tool, customers can choose to opt out of data processing by disabling the corresponding groups in the “Transparency & control” tab under Google Cloud’s Privacy & Security settings.
