GoPuff set to expand its online delivery system through the acquisition of rideOS

The online delivery system has become an important part of people’s everyday life. Now most of the goods are delivered online. Everything is just a click away; it saves time and energy. Pandemic saw a surge in the number of online deliveries. 

 

Online is the new convenient way that simplified the shopping process. Gopuff is a US based online delivery company. It delivers food items, alcohol and baby products. To smoothen the process of online deliveries Gopuff has acquired rideOS, a San Francisco based startup that builds cutting edge technology for advanced routing and quick dispatch of goods. Gopuff acquired rideOs in $115 million. 

 

The acquisition will help Gopuff to accelerate its expansion in other cities of the US. It will enable Gopuff to expand their product delivery system. Ride OS’s advanced technologies and engineering experts will power multi- modal deliveries. Through RideOS advanced technologies the delivery time will also be reduced.

 

According to TechCrunch Justin Ho, co-founder and CEO of rideOS said, “Gopuff’s mission and global ambition to be the world’s go-to solution for immediate everyday needs is a natural extension of rideOS’ vision to build software that efficiently moves people and things throughout the world.”

Gopuff has a fixed delivery rate of $1.95. The delivery cost remains the same even on weekends. Their average delivery time is 30 minutes. Gopuff is currently offering home deliveries in 650 US cities through 250 fulfillment centres. It operates in Washington, Philadelphia, San Jose and Los Angeles. 

 

Gopuff is now extending its delivery service network to New York. Prior to this acquisition Gopuff has acquired Fancy and BevMo. It raised $1.28 billion in G series investing that occured on 23 March, 2021. Gopuff is valued at $8.9 billion. 

 

RideOS is a startup that focuses on building cutting edge transportation marketplace through new age technologies. Their routing service provides solutions that help automotive OEMs, on demand transportation and logistics companies. Through their command centre analytics and real time monitoring service they offer summaries of fleet utilization.
