Nokia G50, the newest budget 5G phone launched by HMD Global title banner

The Launch

 

HMD Global, the Nokia brand licensee, launched the Nokia G50 on Wednesday as the newest budget 5G phone. The latest Nokia phone has a waterdrop-style display and a triple camera module at the back. The Nokia G50 features 64GB of internal storage and is supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 octa-core processor. 

 

Currently, the Nokia G50 is only available in the United Kingdom. However, it is expected to become accessible in various markets subsequently. The phone will be displayed alongside the Nokia G10 and Nokia G20, which are Nokia's low-cost 4G handsets from the Nokia G series.

 

The Nokia G50 is priced at GBP 199.99 (approx. 20,100 INR) for the single 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage configuration. The phone is currently available in the UK in two colours: Midnight Sun and Ocean Blue. The Nokia G50 is expected to be available in India later this year.

 

The Nokia G50 is powered by Android 11 and has a 6.82-inch HD+ display with a max brightness of upto 450 nits. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC is paired with 4GB of RAM to run the device.

 

According to Gadgets360, the Nokia G50 has a triple back camera module with a 48-MP main sensor, a 5-MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-MP depth sensor. The smartphone is provided with an 8-MP camera sensor at the front for selfies and video chats.

 

The Nokia G50 comes with 64GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD card up to 512GB. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C connector are some of the connectivity choices.An accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor are among the featured sensors on board. 

 

The phone also has a physical fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button on the side, as well as a dedicated button for Google Assistant.

The Nokia G50 comes with a removable 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging adapter. Furthermore, the phone dimensions are 173.83x77.68x8.85mm and weighs 220 grams. The Nokia G50 turns out to be a handy budget phone, a decent pick at this price point, and a great upgrade for Nokia G20 users.

 

The company, GMD Global comprises the mobile phone business--the one that, in the year 2014, Nokia handed over to Microsoft, but again in 2016, purchased and came in the hands of Nokia.
