Vodafone and Idea have combined to rebrand themselves into the new identity- 'Vi'. The declaration was made by Ravinder Takkar, Vodafone Idea's MD and CEO. As reported by CNBC TV18, during the live webcast of the declaration he stated that in under two years’ time the platform has accomplished the massive undertaking of the world's biggest integration. As the unification of the two brands is concluded, the platform is prepared for a new beginning.
Takkar also mentioned how the platform is pleased to introduce Vi, a brand which will be carrying significant importance to the lives of the platform's users. He also emphasized on how Indians are hopeful and intent on excelling throughout everyday life and they would cherish a trustworthy accomplice to aid them on this excursion. The concept of Vi has been situated around this guarantee and will zero in on meeting the requirements of the customers to enable them to flourish.
As stated by the Chairman of Vodafone Idea as well as Aditya Birla Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla, on the introduction of the new brand, through Vi, the platform aims to collaborate with the Government and quicken India's movement towards a digital economy, empowering a large number of residents to interface with the digital revolution and develop a better future.
The Vodafone Idea board had recently affirmed an arrangement to raise up to ₹25,000 crores through a blend of equity and debt instruments. The choice came days after the Supreme Court ordered telecom services to pay 10% of complete adjusted gross revenue (AGR)- related contribution this year, and remaining installments in 10 portions, beginning next financial year.
Vodafone Idea faces a remarkable AGR contribution of about ₹50,000 crores.
