YouTube’s new feature will auto translate video titles and descriptions

Keeping in terms with its previous update policies YouTube is testing the auto translation feature for video title,video description and buttons.

 

This new  translation feature will auto translate video title and video description in the user’s native language.

 

The new feature will be available on desktop and android devices.It will be a pop-up feature .YouTube’s auto translation feature is currently in the testing mode and has successfully translated English videos into Portuguese.

 

This translation feature is powered by Google Translate.The translation pop-up option will appear next to the video title.

 

The new feature will translate video description,video title,subscriber count and video captions.Once the testing is successful YouTube will expand its auto translate features viability to other native languages.

 

Machine translation is a useful tool to assist human translators. Machine translation works on mechanical substitution of words in one language for words in another language.It is a sub field of computational linguistics.

 

According to HTTech, this new feature is being introduced as a server side update and most users won’t get an update notification for the same,however the pop-up window will appear adjacent to the video title.
